Thanks!!
I figured it out, but it incurred problems. I lost my engines sound, and couldn't pan view outside of cockpit.
You don't need the SDK if your not a designer.
Yes. i deleted it. I also uninstalled-reinstalled FSX, but still have no cockpit engine sound. Do you know whats up? Thanks, Jim
Did you reset all the sound settings in the Sim.
It all has to be cleaned out. If when you reinstalled it was a repair not an autorun you may have had some settings left in the registry.
There were no more files in the 'program files'. In Microsoft Games, there were no more files either. Is that it?
Follow this to the letter and it's clean.

You might want to check the codecs to see if any were deleted by accident.

I did it and still have no cockpit engine or alarm sounds. Most disenchanting, I tell ya! Thanks, Radarman, I appreciate all the help I can get. Tha' dog.
Check for new drivers for your sound card.
Possibly the old one became corrupted in some way.
That was it!! I re-installed them, but the update did it. Youda man! 😛
