Does FS 2004 have an issue with Windows Vista?

For the first time I decided to install fs 2004 using a vista based system. And for some strange reason I'm having problems with the display. Like for example, if I go to spot plane view, it doesn't show the outside of the plane. Instead it still looks like I'm in cockpit mode, while everything else is frozen. The clock instrument doesn't count up or anything....I never did have this problem with windows xp. But I'm wondering if there's a patch that I can download for the issue I'm having with vista?

Did anyone else have a similar problem before?

Just the original 9.1 patch, nothing special for VISTA.

Thanks for telling me about the patch. It resolved my issue. No more glitches when I change views....now I just have one more question. Does the Hollywood sign exist on FS2004 or FSX? Not once I seen this while flying in or out of the Los Angeles area....

It should I think 😉

Unfortunately I'm still having problems with FS2004! The patch I downloaded was only a temporary solution....OMG this is really ticking me off! Is there something else that I can try download?

Nothing else to download and yes the sign is there on both FS9 and FSX.

Fly towards Burbank airport on the opposite side of mountains and you'll see the sign! 😉

I had heard some issue where the sign was partially buried by the terrain mesh... there is supposed to be a fix for it on avsim.

I did not download it, not something I figured I needed yet... so I am unsure the validity of the problem, or the cure.

You know, this is a very good question.

Actually, I think I heard that FS2004 doesn't really work too well on Vista for some reason, probably having something to do with the Vista interface.

I'm not so sure about it, but I guess maybe Vista is too advanced for FS2004 to play on.

If I'm going to continue to have issues with FS2004 with vista, I just might go with FSX instead....

As for the Hollywood sign, can someone try post a screenshot here for me?

This is a "fix" for FSX by a friend of mine, check out the screenshot...only one is the sign.
