Hey folks, is it true that FSX Acceleration will not work if I am running Windows XP? I received an email for ordering the expansion pack, but I think I read someone's post here that it would be a problem because it is made for Windows Vista? I checked the info and it says the platform is Windows XP.
Paul
It will run on your machine with XP as long as it's up to date...with SP2 and all updates.
Where can you get the expansion pack from?
i dont believe its available quite yet, sometime early next week i think...
Im sure their are places doing pre-orders though...
dwerrell,
I noticed that it will be available stateside on the 23rd of October. I just didn't look on the home page before I posted.
Thank you.
Hey RadarMan,
I think SP2 comes with the program, does it not?

Yes it does, an it'll be available to all (download) about 6 weeks later.
Language problems ( 8 I think).
System req for acceleration is Xp service pack 2(SP2) and FSX SP1.
If you wanta toggle DX10 on then you need Vista and a DX10 vid card.
The expansion pack (acceleration) gives 3 new planes and 50 new missions.. And the capability to display the original FSX DX9 graphics using DX10. Plus some tweeks to improve FPS.
I can wait for FSX SP2, not interested in the 3 planes or the missions. I am interested in hearing how DX10 treats various 3rd party addons like extreme graphics or X graphics, those are DX9 textures.
I just saw the ad for $30 in circuit city. available on this wednesday at 2pm PST.
