FSX Background Problem

Hi All
Recently I've noticed while in flight I see giant green color spring type spirals from the ground up reaching the skies... At 1st I thought I was seeing things. Later I re-booted and started FSX again, but sure enough the same thing was there, and they're everywhere (land & see). You can fly through them with no effects on the flight. But it basically ruins the scenery... Can anyone help please. Many thanks.
