You can use Notepad to edit cfg files. Do not use Microsoft Word or Word Pad to edit. When you attempt to open the cfg file, you might have a dialog appear asking how to open the file. You might need to navigate using Windows Explorer and find Notepad.exe, located in the Widows system 32 folder. Highlight Notepad.exe then click use this program to open the file.
