This is a very random question, but...
How do you pronounce the name of the Boeing 777?
I call it the "seven-seventy-seven", but on Jeopardy some guy called it the "tripple 7", and I've heard "seven-seven-seven".
So how do you say it? 😂
Me? seven-seventy-seven
Any way that others understand it would be correct.
They call our sim, 2004, fs04, fs9, ACOF and other names but in the end it's all the same.
Thanks Radarman!
I didn't know if there was an "official" pronounciation
I've always said "triple seven" because that's four syllables, and "seven seven seven" is six syllables. It's more economical in the syllable count, you see. 😂
Ed
Well, I call it Boeing "seven seven seven"
Everyone has different pronunciations. That's cool.
I have mostly heard tripple 7
I'd bet that Americans would be more likely to say "Seven seventy seven". Just an observation.
Good question, it's funny I work in the aviation industry but have only heard "Triple 7" and "seven seven seven"....had never thought of "seven seventy seven". Perhaps because I am in the UK. Interesting to know from those of you elsewhere in the world what is popular...anyone listening in to ATC may hear one term often than another.
well, i'm as American as they come, and i usually say triple seven. If i'm talking to an aircraft illiterate, its the seven seven seven'
seven seventy seven sounds weird...on paper, and even worse spoken 😕
😀 Me,Im a tripple 7 man
I have heard it called a 7, 7, 7 but never seven seventy seven, the 737,yes seven thirty seven and the 757 (seven fifty seven) the mighty 747 as seven forty seven and of course jumbo
Clear as mud now
What about when the 7E7 comes out ❓
Would this be seven E'ty seven ❓
Thou the Seattle press have stated the 7e7 will become the 787 eventually.

Very interesting article, thanks.
I usually say tripple seven, or seven seven seven, never 'seven seventy seven'
I've always said seven seven seven, don't know why I don't use triple seven, it is easier ❓
