I have fsx now but intrested in getting Steam. I read good and bad which is normal I Guess for peoples different tastes. I am an Instriment Rated Pilot and enjoy making approaches to new airports. I get my plates from flight aware so I have everything I need there. Is steam any better for instruments?

Frankly, if you have FSX prior to the steam release.... I'd recommend adding it to your steam games rather than purchasing it anew. There has been no attempt at optimizing the performance between the two, (I have an NVidia GTX 970 and the steam edition ran like a slide show with DX10). That said a third party company has taken up maintaining FSX. I don't know if they will update users with licenses prior to the Steam release.
