Is Little NavMap compatible with XBOX MSFS 2020? I used to use a computer for MSFS but recently got an Xbox Series S for Gaming. Thought I'd try FS on it. but would like to have a Nav element like Little NavMap. If it isn't, know of any that are? Thx.

Your query about integrating Little NavMap with Xbox's MSFS 2020 strikes a chord with many enthusiasts transitioning from PC to console. Regrettably, Little NavMap (LNM) currently doesn't interface with the Xbox version of MSFS 2020. This limitation stems from the absence of SimConnect functionality on the Xbox platform, as confirmed by Microsoft/Asobo. This lack of compatibility significantly narrows the spectrum of navigation tools available to Xbox users.

However, don't let this dampen your flight simulation experience. While LNM might be off the table, there are workarounds to enhance your navigational experience. Consider a Navigraph subscription. It can update the Aeronautical Information Regulation And Control (AIRAC) cycle in LNM, aligning it more closely with MSFS's database.

As a seasoned simmer, I've found that adapting to the platform's constraints often leads to discovering new dimensions in the simulation experience. While the direct integration of tools like LNM is a convenience, the fundamental joy of flight simulation lies in its adaptability and the continuous learning curve it offers.

My workaround is to use LVFR pr PMDG aircrafts that comes with a "tablet" in cockpit and from there you can import Simbrief flight plans..
Usually I create Fp in LNM... them export it to Simbrief .. open it in the cockpit tablet and finally.. syncronizing it to de MCDU / FMS

Hope yhis helps

Dan / AleGarro — yep, that’s basically the “Xbox reality” right now.

On Xbox you can’t run Little Navmap in the usual way because there’s no SimConnect-style external data feed available to 3rd party apps, so anything that relies on live aircraft position / direct sim connection is a non-starter. So the best you can do is exactly what AleGarro described: work with flight plan import methods that don’t require a live connection.

Practical Xbox-friendly workflow (what usually works best)

  1. Build your route in whatever tool you like on PC (LNM is fine for this part).
  2. Get that route into SimBrief (export/import depending on how you’re doing it).
  3. In MSFS (Xbox), use an aircraft that supports SimBrief import on the EFB/tablet (a lot of the better airliners do).
  4. Import the SimBrief plan in the tablet, then send/sync it into the FMS/MCDU from there.
  5. Fly it using the aircraft’s own NAV display + onboard charts/tools the addon provides.

A couple “gotchas” to watch for

  • Procedure mismatches (SID/STAR/approach): even when the route imports fine, you may still need to pick the SID/STAR/approach again inside the FMS to match what MSFS/that addon thinks is valid.
  • AIRAC differences: if SimBrief is on a different cycle than whatever navdata your aircraft is using, you’ll sometimes see missing waypoints or airway errors. In that case, simplify the route (more directs) or rebuild using the same cycle.
  • World Map plans vs FMS plans: on airliners especially, I’d usually stick to loading the plan via the aircraft’s tablet/FMS rather than relying on the MSFS World Map to “preload” everything.

Quick question so I don’t steer you wrong

  • Which aircraft are you mainly flying on Xbox (default A320neo, LVFR, PMDG, etc.)?
  • Are you looking for moving map on a second screen, or just an easy way to create/import routes?
  • Do you have access to a PC/tablet/phone alongside the Xbox for planning, or are you trying to do everything only on the console?

Answer those and I can suggest the cleanest method for your specific setup (and what to avoid).
