Nice Clean FS2004 Install

Hi,

Had a major problem with the old PC last week and am now backup and running with a clean install of FS.

I had several add-ons installed on my previous version before my little incident and was just wondering what other people would recommend installing first in the way of add-ons?

I had some sound issues when I installed the Greg737 panel previously so am a bit reluctant to reinstall that otherwise just after some advice on scenery files, utilities, recommended planes etc.

Cheers

😳 Wow ,where do you start?

OK here is my 2 pence worth

The nocd crack (from flyaway)

Airport Envoiroment Upgrade V7 For better airports(I think its V7) (Avsim)

A traffic addon (projectAI is very good) (http://www.projectai.com/packages/)

Afcad2 Sort out the parking problems for all your extra traffic (Avsim or https://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/files/1232/afcad-221-for-fs2004/ )

fs9configurator To speed up all AI traffic (http://www.kensalter.com/ )

Fancy flying an Airbus ( http://ifdg.net/data/)

A couple of boeings ( http://ifdg.net/data/)

Some scenery,well that depends on you,here is a list (http://walhalla.mine.nu/fs2004.php )

Any mesh for the areas that you fly (again from the above site)

There are loads more but lets see what everybody else comes up with

Good luck 😉

TTT gave you some great ideas, but load one at a time in case you have a problem. It's easier to catch.

Oops! I just remembered about the "greg737" panel
when you d/loaded it there should have been a "SOUND DLL".This sould go to the into the Module folder
(if you get a start up error because of this give me a shout via PM with your email and I will send you an updated one)

😉

Tom,

Sheesh thanks for the detailed reply it's appreciated. I'll look through them and pick up the bits I want. You've given me links that I haven't seen before.

Yes your correct with the greg737 panel, when I installed it last time I kept getting the sound error on startup but just pressed okay and it ran okay (well apart from the sound problems lol). If I get the confidence to reinstall then the patch would be good to have, I'll let you know.

A lot to get through, thanks again!!

Cheers
Paul.

PS - I'm based in the SW of England so fly mainly around there. I did see a scenery pack in the download section for southern england and have already installed that.

From the "greg737" readme:

If you get an FSsound.dll warning when loading Flight Sim just add this line to your fs9.cfg file. FSsound.dll must be loaded for the crew annoucements and Altitude callouts to work.

[OLDMODULES]
FSsound.dll=1
