Dear fellow Simmers

I'm trying to addon wing views to my SGA MD80 series of aircraft and I'm coming up against a brick wall. I have the cockpit and wingview bitmaps in my panal folder plus I have made what I think are the nesessary changes to the panal cfg.No joy! I can get the cockpit views alright but when I press #+number to get the wing views I still get the cockpit views. I know in my gut the problem is with the panal cfg but I just dont know how to crack it at the moment. Is there something I should be doing with the Aircraft cfg as well?

Does anyone have a cockpit/wing view panal cfg for the SGA aircraft they could post on the forum so I can solve this prob?

😀 You will have to remove any side cockpit views(bitmaps) from the panel folder,and then edit the config file foe any reference to them Hack

If you get stuck,tell me what panel you are using and from where and I will have a look at it for you

Hi Tom, hope all is well with you.

I'm using the B757 panel from the following link:

The model is the SGA MD80/83/87

I have the window bitmaps from a different aircraft. File names:
window_right3
window_right2
window_right1

window_left3
window_left2
window_left1

I was hoping that I could have both cockpit and cabin view option using the # key but that probably isnt possible.

I've been at this all afternoon but I have'nt cracked it yet.Any advice would be most welcome.

D/loading now

You could keep the front left & right cockpit views (numbers 7 + 9)and have wing views for 4,6,1 & 2
Or front L & R(7+9) + left and right cockpit views(4+6) leaving 1+3 for the wing views(this is the more difficult to do)

Umm... Have a try of this
Note this is just a very quick mess about Ive had here,will have a another tinker with it tomorrow(going out soon)

I want to take the right wing view back a bit more and the left you can just see the edge of the modeled wing Mad Perhaps move the view back a bit more so that you will see the flaps moving

Feel free to have a tinker yourself

The reason you may have been getting stuck was a fault(mistype?)in the config

Hi Tom.

Did exactly as you posted.Slight prob though,only one wing view. So I started to tweek,as you do.Far from improving the situation,I was making things worse.Time for a Diet Coke and a smoke Geek

I checked Flyaway for wing views and nothing for the MadDog. Googled it and found something called "Ultimate Wing Views" for the MD8X. Pasted the details into the panel cfg,saved and started FS9. This time excellent wing views but no front left/right bitmaps. I was getting close. Went back to your last posting and saw the cfg entries for front left/right bitmap views. Pasted them in to the panel cfg and deleted the "UWV" entries for the same views.

Prefect wing views AND front left/right bitmap views.
