Hi all, i have a prob with the autopilot approach, when im in a 737 and established on the localizer when i click approach it doesnt seem to want to actually do the approach i seem to still have full control of the aircraft????
Make sure you have autopilot engaged and the FD engaged so you can see whats going on. Make sure the GPS/NAV switch is on NAV and you havn't engaged the AP before you hear the morse code identifier and that you see the glideslope indicator. 😉

Also,
once you're established, try turning onto the runway heading and get lined up before you hit APP.
At what speed and altitude are you when you get the localizer?
Usually going at about 220 knots, and told my ATC to keep at 2,900. LAX int. 6L approach
I tried doing an approach using the GPS vectors to rnwy 6L the other day and it didn't do a thing. Ended up having to go around and try again!
Made it with barely a few pounds of fuel to spare...Mind you I didn't put enough in to start with being honest and FS passengers severely fined me for it in way of point deductions, also for going overspeed in the aircraft as well as using reverse thrust below 60knts (SORRY GONE OFF SUBJECT!)

Follow this exactly to set up the GPS approach. Then if you want to follow it, make sure the GPS/NAV switch is on GPS and you engage NAV on the AP.
