So I cant go past 250kts going up either? Thats what I'm doing wrong whoops

Correct. You can not exceed 250kts below 10,000 ft.

If you're using autothrottle remeber that even if you reduce speed in the autopilot to 220kts you'll be picking up speed as you descend, so maybe you'll have to reduce speed to 190 or so if over -2000ft/min as to always stay below 250kts.
