ETE GPS et.

africa505505 Guest

thanks for all of you.
according my previous topic - i ment the overall time period of the flight.

again: is there any option to see the overall time period of the flight from departure to destination during the flight (as it was in FS2000 - how much time left to reach destination - it was displyed there as "counting back" clock whatever its called).

thnk you all, again

Maybe i didnt get you well but from GPS ETE time you see the remaining flight time(always according to your cruising speed). What excactly do you need?A clock that you can set-up the flight time and start countdown?

I've never heard of ETE. Put that down to the big holes in my database.

If, what we're discussing is ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival), that is indeed displayed in the GPS. It will only appear after you've entered your destination.

In the GARMIN, it's in the left column, 4th from the top.

Take a look at your GPS. You will find ETE there. I've never heard of ETE either, but it appears to be counting the time to the next waypoint, so I guess it means Estimated Time Enroute.

Thanks for the pointer. Had another look and found it. Bottom right-hand corner in the Garmin.
ETE indeed stands for Estimated Time En route according to the GPS chapter in the Learning Center.

Don't rely on the ETE inflight, to determine when you will arrive. First of all, it will only tell you remaining flight time to the next waypoint, not the final destination. Secondly, it determines time enroute based on your speed, and when you approach, you slow down quite significantly. I hope that helps.
