How do I get VOR indicator to show from-to in window? All I get is a continous "barberpole" in the window of the VOR indicator.

Thanks for any help offered.

Double-check to be sure that you've got the correct frequency dialed in the radio, and then make sure the Nav1 button is lit. It's possible the button is only for sound, but I could be wrong.

Other than that, I'd say wait for others, I usually fly direct with GPS, so I'm probably not an excellent resource for this type of problem 😞

Here is a tutorial on the VOR system.

The link in the above post is an excellent and complete description of VOR's and their use. In case you missed the inference of the "red flag" in that article, the "red flag" and your barberpole are the same indicator. Some VOR intruments use a barberpole or red flag in the From/To indicator and some use a separate red flag or barberpole.

In either case, the flag or barberpole indicates the VOR receiver does not have a reliable radio signal on which to navigate. As pointed out in the article, the cause could be an improper setting of the VOR radio frequency, an inoperative VOR receiver in the a/c or transmitter on the ground, or you may simply be too far or too low from the station to recieve a reliable signal.

In the case of the Sim, it could also mean your GPS/Nav switch on the instrument panel is set to GPS.

Thanks all for your responses.

I am certain that I have a good signal and Nav light is lit. Also receive proper identifier code.
Let me read up on the VOR primer and see if I am missing something.

Thanks again
