Hey 😀
Can I speed up my flight, to ex. 4x, 8x, and 16x?
And if, how?
Thanks a lot in advance!
nikolais 😀
r with the + to speed up and - to speed down 😕 if you can say that!
Or hit ALT/Options/Simulation Rate and choose the speed you want .
Be careful though....autopilot doesn't work beyond 16X 😉
also.. if you use FSpassengers, points will be deducted for using time acceleration...
i am addicted to time acceleration.. i have no patience, lol 😂

Me neither, I usually go and play my PS2 during the cruise I feel guilty, i'm sure my passengers would prefer me to be checking fuel etc ,etc...
😂 😂
WHAT the heck is the point? Don't fly such a long flight then if you have to cheat.
If your going to fly a flight do it right
Now me, I try to get the most realism I can into my flights.
Its not very realistic to leave the plane on autopilot and play the PS2!! I wouldn't be happy if a pilot of one of my flights did that!! lol

How can you cheat on FS9 ❓
I don't accelerate time, but I do leave my PC when the aircraft is in cruise, checking it periodically, checking if everything is OK. I don't see what's wrong with that, I wouldn't call it cheating 😉
We all do things differently, it doesn't mean its wrong 😉
the reason that they have copilots is so they can gossip during cruise.duh 😂 😂
Exactly my point eagle3. In the real world, pilots leave the flight deck and rotate rest periods between them.
😀 😀
if you take a look at some cockpit photos there will often be a magazine in shot
why would you want to speed up your flight??
Dont you all of you think that everyone has his own way in flights?
Why you try to prove that ''my way is the best''???
Enjoy FS as you like ❗ 😉

Lol nice one! 😂 😂
On topic : I do speed up, well because there arent as many things to do in FS as there will be in real life so it gets boring. And the sole purpose of FS is to enjoy yourself, not to compare it to real life flying because its not even close to it but it is as close it can get.

If you at the end of this the phrase ''In my humble opinion'' it would be more better than already is. 😉

Bah that ain't "cheating" I believe speeding time up is "cheating", if you can cheat in a simulation.
As far as playing PS2, I do the same thing, I just have to spin my chair 90 degrees to the left, I do it all the time when I'm cruising, but I'm still there monitoring my flight and responding to ATC. Plus I have FS2Crew with my ATR so I'm constantly interacting with my flight crew and co-pilot mid flight.
ok.. well call it what you want..
but as far as i see it.. why spend 4 to 5 hours on the computer doing nothing? sure it's amusing, and fun.. but you end up right where you started.. and only 5 hours have passed ...lol, as much as i love aviation.. i DO need to get out with friends.. and occasionally do schoolwork, lol.
..and i understand there's no "fast forward" option in real life.. but in real life there's 1.)more to monitor, 2.)there's no place else you can be (like with friends etc..), and 3.)you're getting paid lol
..i mean sure.. i'll kill 2 hours on a flight in flightsim without "cheating".. but that's really only when i have no plans or there's absolutely nothing to do.
..that being said.. nothing will change my mind about becoming a pilot. not boredom, not fear, not low pay.. nothing 😉
Then don't fly a 6 hour flight, fly a flight that takes as much time as you have to fly. But thats just my humble opinion. Do what makes you happy. 🙂
lol.. flying an A340 across the atlantic makes me happy sometimes too... it depends on my mood.
it's just... i'm a busy guy.. being a 17 year old getting ready for senior prom.. and all my friends asking me to hangout.. lol.. i just dont have time!
(friends come before computer games, lol... however, real life flying would be another story :lol🙂
so yes.. i will do the flight.. but i "cheat"
lol
oh well.. like you said.. whatever make us happy is what matters. 🙂
...actually im in a "Piper Cherokee VFR" mood right now.. so i think i might go do that... without cheating, lol .. you cant accelerate a VFR flight 😂
happy flying solotwo! 😎 😀
What the hell is all this "cheating" BS? The man/woman asked a civil question and was given an answer.
If you don't like time accel, well, don't use it. For those of us who don't have time to park ourselves in front of the PC for hours on end, it is a very useful facility. I paid for this damn game, and I'll enjoy it however I like.
nobody directed anything at you antone.. 😕 ❓ ❓ ❓

I understand that. But hell, the OP asked a simple question that was answered simply. From some of the replies, you'd think that using time accel was equivalent to forcing your mother to sleep with a donkey.
Well now that you mention it, it is for the most part the same thing.

lol this is rediculous... it's a game.. let's all try and enjoy ourselves, okay? lol
