ok i just purchased microsoft flight simulator 2004 and everytime I choose select a flight and scroll down to a selected flight for example...Modern: Cargo Pilot (Hard) and select Tokyo to Hong Kong my system crashes, without even trying to load the map. This happens to at least 85% of the "scenarios"...anyone else having this problem? if so is there a way to fix it...I downloaded the newest patch as well...
If you can give us all the specs of your computer that would be a big help.
Pentium 4 3.0 ghz with 1 GB of ram with a nVidia 5800 video card
Did you try to lower the Graphics settings from FS menu?Yous GFX is a quite old and by pushing it ,you could have an FS crash.
A re-installation of FS never was a bad solution though.
yeah reinstalled a couple of times now...turned down graphics as well and still crashed....doesn't even give me a message it just shuts down FS2004 and goes to my desktop...=(

Also if your are able to clean your CPU's heatsink and fan from dust it would help anyway yours systems performance.Overheating is an enemy...
Assuming that you haven't been sold a beta copy masquerading as the real thing (don't laugh, it happens), try updating your video card drivers to the latest version, as this fixes the problem about 90% of the time.
