Just to add, you can run Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor beta to see if your machine will run Vista, or what you need to upgrade depending on your requirements. Found here........

I ran it a few days ago and my old machine passed.
They have drivers for everything but the gameport on my sound card (don't use that anyway) and my Linksys NIC card which I'll contact the to get drivers if they have any.
If not I'll buy a new one (Vista ready) and transfer it to a new machine at the end of the year.
