Smoke System for multiplayer

Hello,
Is there a way to see the others aircraft smoke system on multiplayer (FS9)?

If your flying with someone else you both have to have each others aircraft in your folders. If not then you'll get a default aircraft.
I imagine that you have to have the exact same smoke effect that the other flyer has so it can be seen.
Quirks of all multiplayer games or sims.
