Aircraft which don't lock onto the Glide slope

I think you're barking up the wrong tree. If you're convinced that a missing string in the configuration file is the culprit, just post it here and we'll have a look see. I have my reservations though to be frank.

I agree with Tailhook.

I've had a quick glance at a few .cfg files for various aircraft (ones that I know fly the GS) and can't find any specific area that denotes that it should work, other than this:

gs_proportional_control=9.520000
gs_integrator_control=0.260000
gs_derivative_control=0.000000
gs_integrator_boundary=0.700000
gs_derivative_boundary=0.000000

Although, that section came from the subsection of Autopilot which doesn't have to affect the glideslope. I think your problem may lie somewhere else
