That sounds like a laptop card, I'd say close to max out if you lower your AI.
If it's a desktop then maxed out.
It also depends on what you add on, that may take a lower setting.

No, that's quite old and the graphics will give you hiccups if you set the graphics to high. You can't use more than 3gigs ram on a 32bit system (even if you have more on your computer) so that will slow you down.
Keep them low (autogen, shadows, clouds and AI) and it might look good.
Lock the FPS at 20.

What if I added a video card would that make it any better?

That's a single core CPU, most today are running a quad core and can't max it out.
Will it help, anything will help but I think with a new card you'd be better off with FS9.
It's easier to run and doesn't need the power of today's computer.
I just hate to see you throw good money after bad.

I would try it at first, lock it at 20fps and see how it works.
If it's jerky then shut off the shadows and AI, and lower the autogen and clouds.
It should run nicely then.

Thank you! Will try the game monday. It used to run fine on my Core2 Quad Q9550 (lost the CD somehow), but I've read stories that it does not run smooth on new hardware..

Hi folks, I am about to buy FSX, but would just like to know if my computer specs will be good enough or am I wasting my time as I would want add ons and scenery etc also....... Intel i5 processor 6400 quad core - 2.7/3.3 ghz with turbo boost -
6mb Cache - 8 gb Memory(ram) - Nvidia GtForce 930 ( 2gb gddr3) - Storage is 2 TB HDD , 7200rpm . Any info if this is decent or not and what I will need etc would be a great help, thanks .

I take it that this is a laptop, if I'm correct then you should run it at a lower resolution to get more power out of your video card.
This sim should run nicely at above medium setting provided you are careful not to overload it with setting high in autogen, shadows clouds and AI.

Good luck and enjoy!

If FSX will not install, download and run KB-928080. You can extract the file and it will create a folder on the C drive. But Run the fix under a Command prompt Window as an admin or Power Shell if you know how. Then install FSX, it should be fine.
