A question about speed.

Guest Guest

Hi, I recently started playing FSX, mostly just flying between bigger cities for fun etc.

My question is about the speed of the jets, for example the A321. It seems to me that the aircraft should be able to fly over 340 knots or so, which seems to be the maximum before I get overspeed. I thought the cruise speed was easilly achievable without maximum throttle and without overspeeding. So what's the deal? Is it suposed to get overspeed lower than the specified cruising speed?

I believe with the A321 overspeed is determined buy your cruising altitude. In other words at 30,000 feet you can go 315 knots no problems, but at 7,000 315 knots is not considered acceptable.

Just what I have experienced when flying it. Give it a spin.

Leadfoot wrote a great post that explains why you get the over speed.
