how do i add my downloaded planes onto the list of msfs2004?

I download to my desktop and then extract all contents to the "aircraft" folder in FS9. The plane then usually shows up automatically when I go to the "select aircraft" box, although they often show up as separate listing (as in, you may have a Boeing section already but a newly downloaded Boeing aircraft may show up as something like; "SGA Boeing...."). Is this what you were asking?
