HELP: Boeing 575-200 Radar Not Working???

Hi guys I have a bit of a odd situation, me and my brother both run FS2004 on pretty much identical systems and we recently installed the Boeing Demonstrator 575-200 aircraft on both machines from the same .ZIP file off our network share...

For some strange reason the Radar on his system does not work? Yet on mine it works just fine???

Does anyone have any ideas what would cause the radar not work?

Any help or ideas appreciated...

Hi DaFirmCEO,

to be honest, I've never even heard of the aircraft you're having problems with. I'll give it a try anyway.

Most radar gauges if not all require FSUIPC. Now prior to you installing the Boeing Demonstrator 575-200, you may have had the appropriate version of FSUIPC already installed, knowingly or unknowingly.
Your brother on the other hand might have an old version or none at all.

This would be the first thing I'd look at. Check your version's number and compare it with your brother's.

Actually I gave him a copy of my file that is one of the first things I looked at.... No Success....

If by 'a copy of my file' you are referring to your version of FSUIPC, then I don't have any other ideas. Someone else might I hope.

If on the other hand you're referring to the .zip -- a .zip file doesn't necessarily include the FSUIPC module. In that case what I said before might still apply and you won't be able to exclude this possibility until you've established whether your brother's and your version are the same.

Finally did some comparing and we found it... His system was missing trafficinfo.dll in the modules folder... As soon as we placed that file in there all is working fine...

Thanks for letting us know. Makes you wonder how those files get lost in the first place. Installer .exes perhaps 🤔

I did some more poking around and that file is not included in the planes install, that doesn't mean it shouldn't have been there though before that?

I certainly had it on my system and the fact we are running identical installs you would think it would have been there on the other system...

But stranger things have happened I guess, at least we found it...

I'm almost certain that the trafficinfo.dll is part of the sim itself. I'm just so suspicious of those installers, they overwrite files without distinguishing between old and new. I'm convinced they create other mayhem too.

It would not surprise me that a particular add-on on your brother's machine actually caused the disappearing act.
