fs2002 transponder will not allow changes

The transponder has worked fine on this installation for ages. I recently installed FSInn for VATSIM connection and now it stays at 1200 whatever I try even before I load the multiplayer links. Therefore I assume it is an FS setting that has got changed. Can anyone advise?
