First OfficerIm being lazy and have not done any reading,,,
When I look for the nearest airport using the GPS, lock onto the Heading it keeps changing.
Perhaps Im just not reading it properly but could anyone comment.

What is it that you actually want to know 
Chief CaptainDirect to the nearest airport
1. Select NRST button on GPS unit.
2. Place cursor on nearest airport list by pressing [Push cursor knob], located in the center of the GPS control knob.
3. Use outer knob of GPS control knob to select airport of choice.
4. Select Direct to button(D with an arrow thru it).
5. Press ENT twice.
6. Press FPL twice to return to normal display screen.

Well eyton some gifted individuals happen to be endowed with clairvoyant abilities... I'm am not one of those.
