Just read it. First USA Jet crash this year.
Us Airways 1549, Airbus A320 La Guardia-Charlotte
Reports say that all passengers got off alive.
Yesterday the media was covering the fact that US Airlines haven't had a fatal crash in 2 years. This pilot kept that streak going.
This pilot definitely gets a pat on the back. He could have very easily stalled it on accident and killed everybody on board.

Just watching it on news now
Sounds like a fantastic bit of piloting to bring it down as slowly as possible and avoiding the plane disintegrating

A great pilot indeed 👍
With flying becoming more technologically advanced and autopilot the norm in all aircraft, it's these types of situations for which they get paid.

Technically I don't think everyone walked away-- I hear one person had broken legs. Still an incredible pilot though.
It's nice to hear some good news once in awhile!
