This is what I have in my desktop

ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO AM3 AMD 785G HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard
AMD Athlon II X4 620 Propus 2.6GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core Processor
OCZ Gold Edition 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1066
HIS H575F1GDG Radeon HD 5750 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Right now I have everything on either medium low or medium high, any higher and it freezes up for 10-15 seconds. Do I need more ram? I'm running Windows 7 64bit.

Also, when I Alt + Tab, and go back to FSX, it crashes, every time. how can I fix that?

Try more ram and see if that helps.
Do you have the latest video drivers, if not clean out the old and install the latest, be sure they are for your system.

Your system is just as good as mine, if not better. I have everything maxed out. You should be able to max everything out. Make sure you have the latest video drivers. If that doesn't help, try running a memtest.

video drivers for the video card? I guess I could go on their site and see if they have any updates.

If you have FSX Deluxe edition - have you updated with SP1 and SP2? I don't know anything about the Gold edition with regards updates.

I do have the deluxe, and SP1 and 2.

I just bought a seitek X52 on ebay and it's coming with gold. When I reinstall 7 (pirate copy right now Surprised , I learned my lessen so no bashing lol) I'll install the gold.
