Nice pickup. The -700 is a sweet spot in the NG family, and yeah… winglets just look “right” on it.
A couple practical notes that might save you some headache while you’re waiting on more repaints:
A few livery / install tips (FSX)
- If you’re adding third-party liveries manually, double-check the aircraft.cfg entries (one missing comma or a duplicated ui_variation can make the livery vanish in the FSX aircraft selection).
- If a repaint shows up but you get weird textures (gray parts, missing night lighting, etc.), it’s usually a missing/mismatched texture folder name or the repaint was made for a different NGX variant/model option.
- After installing a batch of liveries, it can help to restart FSX completely (FSX doesn’t always refresh aircraft entries cleanly mid-session).
Quick realism/ops bit on the -600/-700
The -700 tends to feel a touch more “lively” than the -800 in pitch and acceleration, especially light, so if you’re hand-flying it a lot you’ll probably notice it right away. It’s one of the reasons many folks really enjoy it in the sim.
If you run into anything odd with the expansion (missing models in the selector, liveries not appearing, CTDs on load, etc.), post back with:
- Which FSX you’re on (Boxed/SP2 or Acceleration, or Steam Edition)
- Whether the base 800/900 NGX loads fine every time
- How you’re installing liveries (PMDG Livery Manager vs manual)
- Any specific error message (or where in the load process it fails)
