I was given some hardware (switch panel, radio, autopilot)

I was given some hardware that was working on another x-plane simulator (switch panel, radio, autopilot). However, when I plug it in, I cannot get the hardware to be recognized and therefore used. Any ideas? When the system is first booting, the lights go on, and then off on the panels so I know somekind of signal is going to them.
