Hello there,
It seems you're having some difficulties configuring the brakes on your T.Flight HOTAS-X controller for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. Fret not, as I'll guide you through the necessary steps to get your brakes up and running. Please follow the instructions below:
- Launch Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 - Start the game and wait for the main menu to appear.
- Access Controls Menu - On the main menu, click on "Options" and then choose "Controls." This will open the controls configuration screen.
- Select Your Thrustmaster T.Flight HOTAS-X - In the upper-left corner of the Controls menu, make sure you have your T.Flight HOTAS-X controller selected from the drop-down list. If not, click on the list and select it.
- Filter by "Assigned" - In the search bar on the right side of the screen, click on the "Filter" button and choose "Assigned." This will display only the actions that are currently assigned to a button or axis on your controller.
- Search for "Brake" - Type "Brake" into the search bar, and the list should narrow down to show only the braking-related actions.
- Assign Brake Axis - Locate the "Brake Axis" action in the list. If it's not already assigned to an axis on your T.Flight HOTAS-X, click on it, then click "Start Scanning" and move the desired axis/slider on your controller. The simulator should automatically detect and assign the axis/slider you've moved. Click "Validate" to confirm.
- Assign Parking Brake - Now, locate the "Toggle Parking Brake" action in the list. Click on it, then click "Start Scanning" and press the button you'd like to use for the parking brake function. The simulator should detect the button and assign it accordingly. Click "Validate" to confirm.
- Save and Apply - Once you've assigned both the Brake Axis and Toggle Parking Brake actions, click on "Apply & Save" in the lower-right corner of the screen. This will save your new controller configuration.
Now, when you're in the simulator, you should be able to use the assigned axis/slider for braking and the assigned button for toggling the parking brake. Please make sure to test your new settings in a safe environment, such as on the ground and clear of other aircraft or obstacles.
If you still encounter any issues or need further assistance, don't hesitate to ask.
Safe flying!
