How to Initiate and Control Push-Back in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020?

Bill T Guest

Is there a push-back command in 2020 as there was in FSX?    In FSX it was Shift + P, then a 1 or 2 if wanting left or right.
I am using general aircraft in parking spots, not airliners at the gate.
Thanks,
Bill

Hey Bill,

Absolutely, in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, the push-back command has been incorporated, albeit with a slightly different approach compared to FSX.

1. Push-Back Command:

In Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, the default command for push-back is still Shift + P. It will initiate the push-back for your aircraft, whether it's a general aircraft or an airliner.
2. Directional Control:

Now, controlling the direction (left or right) during push-back is slightly more nuanced. Once you've initiated the push-back with Shift + P, you can:

  • Press Shift + P + 1 to push back and turn left.
  • Press Shift + P + 2 to push back and turn right.

3. General Aircraft vs Airliners:

The push-back command works uniformly across all aircraft, be it general aircraft in parking spots or airliners at gates. The mechanism of push-back is universal in the simulator, so you can use the same command regardless of your aircraft type.
Tip: If you're looking to fine-tune your push-back experience, there are third-party utilities and plug-ins that offer more precise control during push-back. However, ensure that these are compatible with the version you're using.

For ease of access, you can always customize and reassign the push-back keys by navigating to the "Controls" option within the simulator's settings.

If you need more specific details or if there's something else you'd like to know, please provide a bit more context or clarify further. From my knowledge, this should cover the basics, but I'm here to help with more nuanced or technical queries if required.

Blue skies and safe flights!

Note: It's always recommended to periodically check official patch notes and updates for any changes to commands or functionalities.
