I heard that when flying the Concord at cruising altitude you could see the curvature of the earth, is this true? How high dose the concord fly? If you could see the curvature of the earth, could you see it on FS? Thanks.

I always thought you could see it with the SR-22 Blackbird, if that's the one. It's the one that flies at like 80,000 feet or something.

Concorde cruises at like 50,000 or so, i don't think you can see it at that altitude, but as far as I know, you can't see it on FS

Answered

Yes, the Blackbird cruises at minimal 80,000 and can go up to over 100.

I don't think you would be able to see it at 50,000 though.

Hi,

I am not sure where I got it from, but I think that the curve of the earth can be seen at 48,000 feet Umm...

Answered

Thanks for the info. I am getting on FS right now to see if I can see the curvature of the earth. 😂

Answered

Let us know if you saw it! 😉

Answered

I went up to FL990, nope, you can't see the curve. 😞 To bad you can only go up to 99,000 ft, because some planes fly over FL100.

Answered

I've never been that high. Maximum was (I think) FL400. I haven't flown higher than that.

Well, too bad we can't see the curvature Crying or Very sad

Answered

Even at top altitude I also could not see that curvature.

the fs world isn't spherical so you may have a problem seing a curve - it's very elongated Wink

yes you could just see the curvature of the earth from concorde - pilots say so on tv anyway.

I went up to 100,000 wich is as high as you can go and i can see it slightly
