Can someone help me? I have the problem. it always says "Scenery read error: attempting to open a nonexistent directory"
I have a P4 1.7 700+ megs of ram GeForce4 I think. 32 megs ram for video. I have a live soundcard but that has nothing to do with it. I have norton antivirus.... Anyone with a good suggestion?, please let me know. anything will be appreciated. I also get the same error when I load the game and it reaches 60 something percent I think, I'm still able to play. but the game sometimes closes when you either change video resolution or reach over 8.000 Alt. Let me know if anyone has a good suggestion my email is the username, thank you

Did It worked with somebody?
Another help is appreciated!!!
Thanks!!!
I had the same problem. You have to reinstall fs but before doing so you must uninstall it and then erase the any existing sub dirs (of course just fs2004) even in the personal docs
and then go and install it from beginning It helped me

using FSX Deluxe -- Windows 7,, Can't get into Flight Sim game due to error message:
"Scenery read error. Attempting to open a nonexistent directory:
Click "OK" to continue,,
Fatal error occurred.
Please help if you have a solution that does not involve reinstalling.
thanks
Bob
