Chief CaptainFlying a Dash 7 from KLAX to KSEA, I screwed up on calculating the amount of fuel I needed. Eight minutes from KSEA, I ran out of gas, declared an emergency and started looking for a place to land. Not enough altitude to get to a nearby airport, so I found an open patch of ground between houses and managed to land, albeit, a bit hard. Report follows. Try not to laugh too hard.
