Made for an interesting approach 🙂

Here's a 9MB video of it:

http://s39.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0HCSK0QA4K0ZC3BXJEVYDDDA8J

Equipment: Boeing 737-400 FFX
Weather: Active Sky 6

Flight plan:LGAV ABLO2F ABLON LATAN UM872 VALEN UZ904 PAR
UL995 PAR.PAR1A LIML

FMS:Simple FMC. Last 40 miles hand flown (from PAR onwards)

I think the weather was below safety minimums, but I went ahead anyway 😛 Remember this is not an "artistic" video, it's just to show the weather.[/u]

Bindolaf,

Good job...!!! Some of the crew and passengeres may have been shakenup a bit but I think that you deserve a standing ovation for your piloting skills.. Everybody put you hands together for Bindolaf for a job well done and keeping the heartbeats going... 🍻

I really love that feeling and I love that I can (still) get it from FS. You know, I was on the glideslope (I am "chasing the needle" a little there) and I can't see *anything*. I know the ground is less than 2000 feet below and closing. All I have is a purple bar on my EFIS display and a little diamond descending, descending, descending. Then suddenly, there it is! No time for corrections or mistakes, but the ILS has guided me true. After that it's just check speed, adjust the glide and touch down. If you notice I landed flaps 40, I was coming a little too high (a little wary of the ground I stayed a notch above the median of the GS) and a little too fast (140-145 kts, nothing crazy). Anyway, it was a blast.

Grrrrrrrr, wish I could do that in perfect weather.

Great touchdown Bindolaf, well done. Clap Clap Clap

Wow! The weather was Fear Was it shaky up there?

And the landing.... ❤️ It looked so smooth! Congratulations, Bindolaf! 👍

Hi great piloting there Bindolof - do you have an FS Passengers report on that as it would be a good one for the "Post your FS Passenger's Reports here" topic in the general forum! 🙂

Answered

No report - I don't use FS Passengers - but it was smooth... probably around 100-120 ft/min, maybe even less.

That is bad weather, nice landing. I like your "titles", it like watching a silent movie. Thanks!

Brilliant landing.

Just a quick question.....

Did you use the default FS9 recording tool?

Just that whenever I use that I find that I it will not simulate flap changes and reverse trust etc.

Anyone else had this problem?

Answered

Yes, I do. And probably everyone have that problem as well. It is a FS bug.

Answered

I thought that might be the case. So that must be an addon he is using yea?

Answered

Yes. If I remember well, he said that he used Fraps (www.fraps.com) to make his videos.

Answered

Nice Video Bindolaf, nice approach as well in those conditions whilst having to record at the same time. 😀

Answered

Lovely landing, Bindolaf. By the way, where are you from?

Answered

1) Yes I used FRAPS

2) Well, I did the landing inside the cockpit, then used the replay feature to film it, hence the little red bar on the lower left corner. I know about the little add-on to eliminate messages, but I kinda want the zoom message and maybe the pause to appear.

3) Greece - hence the Olympic Airways flight from Athens to Milan.
