.... should I be worried?

This is my A320 on approach. This smoke didn't come out while cruising, I just went to check my level as I flew in for approach and noticed this trail of red smoke. What is it?

haha yay, did you hit 'i'?

Answered

No, I didn't know I did that. But no, that was without hitting any buttons. I notice it a lot on this plane now that I know it's there. Seems to be at lower speeds it does it and not at higher speeds. like in the 100-200kias range. Weird. how do i make it go away?

I don't think I've seen red smoke before.

Me neither.

I guess that is not iFDG, am I right?

Answered

No, it wasn't iFDG

did you install a fighter jet? cuz maybe it replaced the original smoke effect with one that has red smoke

Extract the contents of the original .zip file into a temporary folder. Look for the effects folder. Compare those effect files with the ones you have in your main effects folder in fs9. I'm guessing, it's probably something like... fx_contrail...

Take one out at a time and testfly.

My guess is that when you installed another aircraft you overwrote an effects file with the same name though with a different 'effect'.

iFDG models are even better and don't have those red trails. If you were approaching, those trails shouldn't be there.

Bird strike ?!! 🙂

Yeah, I'm beginning to think I did replace an effects file. Eh, I don't really mind it... think it's kinda cool. So at slow speeds, I get red tails! Cool!

High altitude contrails are still white and pretty... 😀 Twisted Evil Twisted Evil
