autopilot

hey everyone.. can I have some insight on waypoint navigation.. I use GPS direct routing almost 100% of the time and I want to start routing my flights more realistically, like VOR to VOR.

heh, i have been flying for a quite some time (since FS95) and yet i havent fully figured how to link the autopilot to my waypoints. (so it will fly them in order on its own)

can someone point me in the right direction?

thanks in advance 😀

You have to switch the NAV/GPS switch to GPS and then click NAV in the autopilot panel.

why didn't i think of that?

You could also try putting the GPS/NAV switch in the Nav position with autopilot in NAV position and tune NAV1 to the frequency of the next waypoint. Put next waypoint frequency in standby so that once you progress far enough you can switch to the next way point. Like they did in the days of yor (before GPS) 🙂

thanks lkw.. but I had tried that method before and found it to be more tedious than what i'm doing now (constantly adjusting the heading to the correct GPS bearing).

it's sad.. i really am that lazy, lol Sleep 😂 😂

thanks for the tips guys 👍
