😞
Just got the FS2004 no-CD patch installed.
Still ask for disk 4.
Any suggestions?

I hate to sound simplistic but did you trade one small aircraft for another.
The one you remove is 1.3mb and the one you put in is 504k.

I would say, unzip it and try again, I've been using it since it first came out and just had to reinstall, so I loaded it again.

😳 Looks like you've not installed it correctly
On your pc........Open my computer then your main drive (normally C)Now open programs and open ms games then fs9
Now just put the crack in there(if you scroll down in your fs9 folder you will should see a load of folders Scenery, aircraft etc and at the bottom you should see a couple of dll files and bits and bobs.)Look for the one with the icon that looks like an aircraft and has fs9 below it.
Thats the file you must replace.
Now you can either just drag the crack into it and windows will ask if you want to replace this file.......answer yes and overwrite the file.
Or you can send the original fs9 to my documents as back up and just put the crack in its place
Have another go and let us know how you get on

Good luck

Started over.
Deleted all files: sikpped file and unzipped fs9.exe .
Downloaded zipped file again.
Unzipped to get the new fs9.exe (504KB).
Copied new fs9.exe to mail "flight simulator 9" folder,
replacing original fs0.exe (1362KB).
Still get "insert disk 4" message.

Pardon the typing error.
I sent it before I read it over closely.
Here it is again in proper form:

Started over.
Deleted all files: zipped file and unzipped fs9.exe .
Downloaded zipped file again.
Unzipped to get the new fs9.exe (504KB).
Copied new fs9.exe to main "flight simulator 9" folder,
replacing original fs9.exe (1362KB).
Still get "insert disk 4" message.

😳 Whats going on with all these reinstalls?(Ive just reinstalled mine along with XP.......Its good to have a clean windows install every now and then)

Sorry I was talking out loud

Ok,sounds like youre doing every thing right but still getting the disc message
Delete the zipped crack file and d/load again (its only small)just incase of errors in overwritting. Then delete the one in your fs9 root file and replace with the new one

All being well it should run without disc 4............If not you may have to uninstall ACOF and start again

Just a quicky, have you run fs9 with the disc in and is it ok?

When you delete FS9 to reinstall it not all of the sim is gone. There are "hidden folders" that also have to be removed, they could be your problem.
One example is the folder in "My Documents" another is FS9.cfg, which can only be found by using "Search" with "hidden Files" box checked.
The system has to be clean of all FS9 material, that's why TomTheTank's suggestion about a clean install of the OS is an excellent one.
I just had to do it because of a hard drive gone bad and now the sim runs faster and better then it ever did.

I forgot to add this.
Your registry is loaded with entries from the sim.
This will clean it after you uninstall it.
Leave it on NOVICE mode unless your well versed in registry cleaning.
I used it in the past and it worked wonders BUT I cannot guarantee any application, this is just a suggestion.

Put in disk 4 and got new error message.
Deleted everything and also uninstalled fs.
Re-installed fs.

Now all you have to do is put the discs away for safe keeping.

one version of the patch was faulty although it wasnt taken off the net.
