He apparently knew he'd be unable to make it to an airport, and so, found a spot to set it down. The plane got banged up in the landing, but all survived the landing. The heart attack is what did him in.

Great story, what a poetic way to go. We will all have to die but to be able to save three lives in the process adds purpose and meaning to your life. May he rest in peace. 😞
