Hi
I have an FX5500 256MB, Pentium 4 1600 MHz, 512MB DDR.
Can anybody please give me general directions to setup my display settings?
What things are more important, etc.
Thanks a lot!
Your computer specs are very similar to my ancient one. You card is a little older.
Keep the clouds and traffic slides as low as possible without loosing their adding to the "eye candy effect you want.
Shut off shadows, water and textures.
Keep scenery and autogen at the default settings.
Over the graphic intensive areas (airports, cities) you mat stutter some but elsewhere it should be smooth flying.
Set your FPS slide to about 27 and if you want to see how the FPS is where your flying hit "Shift+Z" twice and red text will appear at the top of the screen with that and other pertinent information.
You'll find some aircraft will be harder on your system because of their LOD (Level Of Detail).
Don't use the latest drivers for you video card, it's not made for them. Use ones that are a year or two old.
If you have too many programs running in the background you will be using up valuable resources, shut them down with this program.

Good luck and enjoy.
