VGA card difference

Dear friends I just want to be clear about these graphic cards. Apart from Nvidia & Redeon, nowadays we see more about PCI cards. What is the difference, and are these PCI cards are better than Nvidia & so on. Thanks

nVIDIA and ATi are companies that make 99% of the video cards on the market today.
Radeon happens to be a name of ATi's.
