Can anyone explain what these functions are and how they are used in the FSX model airplanes (not PMDG). Also, is there a way to change the HSI display on the 747 to a more detailed display with your flight plan on it?

Hi, LNAV makes your plane follow the route you entered in the flight managment computer (FMC) and VNAV makes your plane follow vertical navigation, climbing to cruise altitude and keeping it there and start descending when you need to. These functions are not on the stock models of FSX, they can only be used on payware aircraft such as the PMDG's or Level-D 767.
