around 1500$ with monitor

Check out www.dell.com and www.gateway.com .

For that price you could build your own nice machine.

Check the posts in the FSX General forum, there's some good advice there.

Wow is right, my brother computer runs FSX just fine with everything on ultra high, and his specs are a little less than yours (Minus the gfx card)

His specs are:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ 2.6GHz Dual Core CPU
2GB DDR2 533 Ram
320GB SATA3 Hard Drive

But his video card is better than yours, his is a nVidia 8800GTS 320MB Card.

And he got about 20-30 FPS in the air, except at LAX, he only got about 8-10 FPS on the ground there, not sure what he got in the air.

Sooo, if im not mistaking, you may just need to format your hard drive, and install a fresh copy of windows on it, and get a new video card (something like the one i mentioned above should do fine, but if you can afford it, get the best card you can afford.

Your brother's specs sound real close to mine except i have a smaller hard drive and the a gfx card (next step down i believe 87something). I regularly get 30 fps, except in thunderstorms... i like my clouds at 100%
