I just posted another of my periodic updates on FSX progress with the DX10 update, here.
I think you will find the progress interesting, and the results of the "DX10 looking like DX9" screenshots very interesting. At least I hope so

When it is released, will SP2 be cumulative or if I buy another copy of FSX will I have to install SP1 first and then SP2.
I forgot to ask, will we be able to slipstream SP2 into the CD?

unfortunately, a slipstream is not in the cards right now.
so yes, if you buy new you will have to install FSX, then SP1, then SP2.
