Hi folks I just want to share with you those that maybe having issues.
# First of I have XP Pro SP1 and fully patched along with all Firmware/Driver updates for my rig.
# Next I also run a mean rig meaning it's clean of all crap and well maintained.
# Uninstall all crap related to FSX by that I mean all your addons and programs then uninstall FSX it's self.
# Reboot
# Go to the Registry and delete any left over folders and files you can find.
# Go to Windows Explorer and delete all left over files and folder in.....
C\Program Files\Microsoft Games.... Delete "Microsoft Flight Simulator X" Folder
C\Documents and Settings\User Name\Application Data\Microsoft.... Delete FSX Folder
C\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft.... Delete "FSX" Folder
Start\My Documents\.... Delete "Flight Simulator X Files" Folder
# Run a program called "CCleaner" and click both the "Cleaner & Registry" tabs to finish up the washing of dirty laundry.
# Reboot
# Install FSX disk 1 and when it loads down the bottom click the more options tab before doing anything else and untick launch/readme or anything else you don't need then continue to install.
# When asked insert disk 2 and click Ok.
# When finished do not launch the game but go straight into installing SP1 PATCH and again do not launch the game.
# When SP1 is installed insert your FSX Acceleration disk and again install but do not launch the game. Once this is complete take your disk out and reboot.
# Now launch the game and you will be greeted with a screen to enter your Product Key. (DO NOT ENTER YOUR "FSX" Product Key) Enter your new FSX Acceleration Product Key but ensure you have a internet connection.
When Billy boy has intruded on your PC and seems to be happy that your legit it will finish. Another screen will pop up asking for you to allow the new keys be assigned because of the addon. (Just click yes to elevate any problems)
If you have gotten this far congrats because this is how I did it for a trouble free install and launch of FSX with the new Expansion Pack. I haven't even tweaked anything yet and everything works as it should so far with no issues. I got about 4-6 FPS increase on stock settings so once I add all my tweaking and programs that make FSX run better anyway things should improve further but we will see.
Well for those that have been whining clean up your PC and give this a try it was flawless in my case.
EDIT: Forgot don't drag over your old files and dump in the folders take your time and setup new ones with this clean install and start from scratch I'm sure many of the issues are because of trying to use old files.......... Your choice if you do but I didn't I reprogrammed everything so that may have helped in a trouble free launch.
😕
Ok folks I'm happy to report FSX Acceleration install has been a complete success. I have all my addon aircraft installed along with Shockwave 3D Lights, FS Global 2008 and all my files altered/configured including terrain mesh.
My FPS have remained the same with a small boost of 4-6 sometimes 8-10 but really no big frame boost. Frame boost I wasn't sure what to expect and I'm just pleased it hasn't gone backwards.
I even dumped my complete backup of FSX SP1 into my "Microsoft Flight Simulator X" folder and all other known folders that need to have things placed there. (Without uninstalling) I can now run FSX Acceleration and FSX SP1 with no issues by just swapping the files out.
Great job Phil and the team for me this has been well worth the purchase but I still stand by my comments that SP2 should have been made available to the public at the same time. 😀 😀
SkOrPn--7 Do you see
Just under global texture resolution, a check box called " Preview Direct X 10 " ?
Since your operating system is " XP Pro SP1 fully patched along with all Firmware/Driver updates for my rig " it's unlikely.
If you want to run FSX in DX10 graphics, upgrade to Vista and reinstall.
And since he has XP and not Vista, he will never see the great graphic details (as well as all the flaws it has with 2004/FS9 aircraft) that acceleration has to offer.
I'm not even going to install Vista it's not worth the headache and the graphics in Vista DX10 is nothing to call home about XP DX9 is fine. I really feel for all the folks that invested in Vista maybe another 12 months and things will be better but I don't hold my breath. 🙂

Well I don't know about others, but Vista work great for my system.
GundamWZero that's what we all want to hear and I'm glad it's working out for you but for me Vista will more than likely pass me by and XP will remain until the next OS.
