I just purchased Falcon 4.0 Allied Force and the amount of detail is amazing. It comes with a 716 page PDF file manual that I will have printed out. It also contains a 109 printed manual that barely scratches the surface of what this baby can do but should get you into the air. In spite of the tremendous detail, it runs well on modest computer systems. It was produced in 2005 based on the original version that started the line in 1998. The learning curve is steep, just figuring out what key to press for a function is complicated. The avionics systems are modeled like the real thing. This means hours of reading so that you will understand terms like JFS, CMI and EPU. Radar modes, weapons launch parameters, 2 MFD with many different buttons and features will take time to learn. Once you learn what it is, you have to find it in the cockpit. Then there are the combat techniques for air to air, air-ground and aerial refueling! If you want real, try this program. It will keep you entertained and challenged for months if not years to come. I choose Falcon over Lock On because of reviews and the fact that Lock On requires more computer horsepower than I'm equipped. I may have it figured out completely by...Xmas 2008! 🙂
