I just downloaded FSX (plain, no gold or deluxe). It didn't install the desktop ICON. I've looked everywhere for it, to no avail. I even re-downloaded FSX. Pretty pitiful, huh?
Hey,
If you're using Vista, you may find that its located in the 'games' section on the computer. Have you checked there?
Also you could try and make do without it and just run the fsx.exe from the Flight Simulator X folder?
Hope this helps!
You can also make a copy of it and paste it on your desktop.
Jacob, I run Windows 7. Can't find fsx.exe in the FSX folder. Radar, I can't copy and paste an icon I can't find anywhere in my system. If I'm incorrect, pls show me the error of my ways.
Hey,
I don't have much knowledge of Windows 7,
Have you checked your "games" folder incase it is installed in there?
If you can't find fsx.exe in the folder try searching for it using the search option on the start menu.
Pls disregard my above post, Radar. I apologize. Just a bit fustrated!
That's OK.
You have the FSX folder open.
Scroll down past all the folders until you get to the f list.
They are alphabetically listed.
Now, there is only one that is dark blue with a white aircraft.
It has 2.681k.
That's the icon that launches the sim.
Click on it, if the sim launches (shut the sim down) then right click on it and click on "pin to taskbar".
Now you have it where you can get at it.
