FSX in Spot Plane mode: Fine adjustments?

Is there a way to make small adjustments to the viewpoint when in spot plane mode?
If I use just the 2 or 8 keys the viewpoint jumps too far, down with key 2 and up with key 8 - and often does not return to a direct, on-axis, astern view.
