Hello Stan,
It seems you're encountering a common hiccup that a few fellow aviators have run into while setting up their hangar for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 on a Windows 10 platform. Don’t worry; we’ll get you airborne in no time!
Firstly, the error on Disc 9 could be due to several factors. Here’s a streamlined checklist to diagnose and likely rectify this issue:
If these steps don’t solve the problem, it might be worth exploring whether your DVD drive’s read speed is compatible with the MSFS discs. Sometimes, drives that are too fast can read older formats inaccurately.
Should none of the above resolutions bear fruit, reaching out to Microsoft support or visiting dedicated forums like ours here can provide additional personalized guidance. Remember, ensuring all software and system updates are applied on your system can also prevent many common installation issues.
Lastly, for future reference or if applicable, considering the upgrade to a digital version of MSFS might provide a more seamless setup and faster updates without the physical media hassle. This version also allows for easier integration with updates and community mods, enhancing your simulation experience.
