Asked

Good morning.

I have the FlyByWire A320 installed in MSFS 2020, but when I select the aircraft and start a flight, I can hear the aircraft sounds and I load into the cockpit, but nothing is visible. In short, the aircraft is completely invisible.

How can I fix this?

I’m attaching an image showing (with a red arrow) where the aircraft should be, but nothing appears—totally invisible.

Sincerely,
Fernando Ospino Rodriguez

Hola!

A320 FBW loads but aircraft is invisible (sounds/cockpit OK)

This usually comes from a bad install path, a duplicate package, or a corrupted model cache. Try this in order.

1) Confirm you only have ONE FBW A320 package installed

  1. Close MSFS completely.
  2. Open your Community folder.
  3. Remove any older FBW folders you see.
  4. You should not have multiple FBW A320 folders at once.
  5. If you do, keep only the current one and delete the rest.

2) Make sure it is actually in the active Community folder
If you use MS Store vs Steam, the “real” Community path can differ.
Also, some add-on managers use a “link” folder.

  1. Temporarily move the FBW A320 out of Community.
  2. Start MSFS and confirm the FBW A320 is gone from aircraft selection.
  3. Now put it back and confirm it returns.

If it never disappears, you are editing the wrong Community folder.

3) Empty your Community folder to test for conflicts
A conflicting livery or old A320 mod can cause an invisible exterior.

  1. Create a folder on your desktop called Community.HOLD.
  2. Move everything from Community into Community.HOLD.
  3. Put ONLY the FBW A320 back into Community.
  4. Start MSFS and test again.

If it works now, add your other add-ons back in small groups.

4) Delete the sim’s rolling cache (and restart)
A corrupted cache can cause missing models or textures.

  1. In MSFS, go to Options and find Rolling Cache.
  2. Delete the rolling cache.
  3. Restart the sim.
  4. Test the FBW A320 again.

5) Try a “clean” aircraft load order
Bernardo’s idea is worth trying, but don’t rely on it as the only fix.

  1. Load into a flight with a default aircraft first.
  2. End the flight back to the main menu.
  3. Select the FBW A320 and load again.

6) Reinstall the FBW A320 cleanly
If you manually copied files, re-do it cleanly.

  1. Delete the FBW A320 folder from Community.
  2. Download the aircraft again.
  3. Install it fresh into Community.
  4. Do not “nest” folders (no double folders).

A few questions so we can narrow it fast

  1. Are you on MS Store or Steam?
  2. Did you install via the FBW Installer, or manual copy?
  3. Do you have any A320 liveries or other A320 mods installed?
  4. When it happens, do you see the exterior in Drone Camera, or is it invisible there too?
  5. Which exact FBW version/branch did you install (Stable/Development/Experimental)?
